Ingredients
- Flour
- Butter
- Sugar
- 3 eggs
- Vanilla essence
- Milk
- Baking powder
Method
- In a bowl, add:
- 1 cup of butter
- ¾ cup of sugar
- Mix together using either a mixing machine, or using a fork
- Mix until fluffy – this will take several minutes (7-10)
- Whisk in 3 eggs, 1 by 1
- Add/ whisk in:
- 1 tsp. of vanilla extract
- 1 sieved cup of flour
- ½ cup of milk
- ½ tbsp. baking powder
- In your tray that you will use for the cake, brush in some butter (to prevent the cake sticking/ make it easier to remove once cooked)
- Add in your cake mix
- Bake for 180°C for 1 hour. You will know when it has cooked through fully using the toothpick test: insert a toothpick, pull it out, and is it is completely “clean” of cake once removed then the cake is fully cooked
- Optional: Add powdered/ icing sugar over the top of the cake using a small sieve
