Ingredients
- 200 grams of ginger
- Cloves
- Dried chilli peppers or chilli flakes
- 2 lemons
- Sugar
- Optional: Selim
Method
- Peel ~200 grams of ginger
- Chop up and leave to soak in a bowl of boiled water, alongside ½ tbsp. of cloves and 1 grain of selim (optional), for 10 minutes (water should justabout cover the ingredients)
- Blend until smooth:
- Soaked ginger and cloves, alongside the water they have soaked in
- Add more water until there is a ½ inch buffer
- 1 tbsp. of dried chilli flakes (or 2 small dried chilli peppers)
- Squeeze the juice of 2 lemons into the blend
- Use a strainer to get all of the juice out into a pitcher. Squeeze the pulp to get extra juice out
- Take the left over pulp, add to a blender with 1 cup of water, and blend until smooth
- Repeat process of straining out all juice
- Mix in ¼ cup of sugar to the pitcher
- Serve with ice
