Ingredients
- 400g of minced beef
- ½ medium brown onion
- ¼ medium red onion
- 1 spring onion stalk
- Scotch bonnet pepper
- ¼ inch of ginger
- 3-4 garlic cloves
- Thyme
- Ground pimento
- Brown sugar
- Nutmeg
- Cinnamon
- Powdered jerk seasoning
- Bread crumbs
- ½ lemon
- Browning
- Stick of butter
- Lettuce
- Tomato
- Burger buns
- Spray oil
- Olive oil
- Ground pepper
- Salt
Method
- Prepare the following vegetables:
- ½ medium brown onion, chopped
- 1 spring onion stalk, chopped
- ½ - 1 deseeded scotch bonnet pepper, chopped
- ¼ inch of ginger, diced
- 3-4 garlic cloves, diced
- To prepare the patties, start with 400g of minced beef in a bowl, add:
- All of the above chopped vegetables
- 1 tsp. thyme
- ½ tsp. ground pimento / all-spice
- ½ tsp. brown sugar
- ¼ tsp. nutmeg
- ¼ tsp. cinnamon
- ½ tbsp. powdered jerk seasoning
- 1 tsp. bread crumbs
- 1 tsp. olive oil
- Juice of ½ a lemon
- ½ tsp. browning
- Knead all seasoning into the mat thoroughly
- To create your patties, section out the meat (~4 sections) and roll sections into a ball. Then pat flat
- Grill the patties, with a sprinkle of salt and pepper on top, for 15 minutes (turn halfway through)
- For the rest of the burger
- Add a stick of butter (~1 tbsp) to a pan
- Toast your buns on a medium temperature on the bottom until slightly brown (~5 minutes)
- Once buns are toasted, spritz some spray oil into the pan
- Cook down ¼ medium red onion, sliced, and slices of tomato for your burgers in the pan (~5 minutes, medium temperature)
- Form the burger as follows:
- Spread your preferred sauce onto the bottom bun
- Add some lettuce
- Add your tomato
- Add the patty
- Add some of the red onions on top
- Finally, add some of your preferred sauce on top
- If you want to include cheese, add your cheese slice on top your patty while its grilling in the final 2 minutes
