Ingredients
- ¼ medium brown onion
- 2-3 garlic cloves
- 1 scotch bonne
- Salt
- Ground black pepper
- All-purpose seasoning
- Fish seasoning
- Paprika
- Chilli powder
- ½ stick/ 1 tsp. of butter
- ½ lemon (for the juice)
- Spray oil
Method
- Clean ca. 215 grams of shell on, de-veined fresh shrimp/ prawns with water and lemon
- Chop:
- ¼ medium brown onion – dice
- 2-3 garlic cloves – dice
- 1 scotch bonnet – dice (leave seeds in for extra heat)
- Add your shrimp to a bowl, season as follows:
- A few spritz of spray oil (or 1 tsp. of oil)
- ½ tsp. of salt
- ½ tsp. of ground black pepper
- 1 tsp. of all-purpose seasoning
- 1 tsp. of fish seasoning
- ½ tsp. of paprika
- ½ tsp. of chilli powder
- Also add your onions, garlic and scotch bonnet to the bowl then massage all of the seasonings and ingredients together using disposal kitchen gloves
- In a pan, add ½ stick/ 1 tsp. of butter, heat up on medium temperature until melted
- Add in all of your prawns and ingredients
- Cook prawns until fully pink (should take ca 3 minutes)
- Add 1/8 cup of water
- Add the juice of ½ a lemon
- Add one small squeeze of red food colouring (optional)
- Cook/ bubble away for a final 3-5 minutes
- Garnish with parsley
