Ingredients
- For vegans/plant-based diets: Remove the egg, and substitute all dairy product to vegan alternatives (grated cheese, butter and milk)
- If you have egg or dairy allergies: Use dairy free cheese and remove the egg
- Macaroni
- 1/4 cup of plain flour
- 1/4 medium brown onion
- 1 tbsp all-purpose seasoning
- 2 tsps paprika
- 2 tsps chilli powder
- Salt
- Pepper
- 1 large of medium egg (optional)
- Cheddar cheese
- Mozzarella cheese
- 1.25 cups of milk
- Butter
Method
- Boil 4 cups (or about 300 grams dry weight) of uncooked macaroni in lightly salted water for ~10 mins (or as per instructed on the packet)
- Separately, mix together in a pot:
- 2 cups of milk
- 1/4 cup plain flour
- 2 tea spoons of butter
- 1/4 diced medium brown onion
- 1 tbsp of all-purpose seasoning
- 2 tsps of paprika
- 2 tsps of chilli powder
- 1 tsp of salt
- 1/2 tsp of black pepper
- 1 large or medium egg
- 1.25 cups of cheddar cheese
- 1.25 cups of mozzarella cheese
- Cook at a medium temperate, until the cheese has mostly melted and mixture thickens
- Sieve your macaroni once cooked, and add to your cheese mix; mix both elements together
- Pour this mix into a baking tray, and sprinkle more cheese on top of your choice and to your liking of cheesy-ness (at least ~500 grams)
- Bake on 200°C for 20-30 minutes
