Ingredients
- ~250-300g of steak (e.g. sirloin)
- 1 tbsp. garlic powder
- ½ beef stock cube
- ½ tsp. salt
- ½ tsp. black pepper
- ½ tbsp. suya spice
- Vegetable oil
Method
- Soak your wooden skewers for at least 30 minutes – this stops them from getting burned in the grill
- Pound/flatten your steak
- Slice steak into medium sized blocks
- Clean your steak with water and lemon
- Add steak to a bowl, and massage in the following seasonings:
- 1 tbsp of vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp. garlic granlules
- 1x beef stock cube
- ½ tsp. black pepper
- ½ tbsp. suya spice
- Marinate in the fridge for a few hours, if you have time
- Add the steak to skewers
- Sprinkle ca. 2 tbsps of suya spice over the beef now on the skewers on both sides
- Cook your skewers on a rack (over a tray) for ca. 20 minutes on the grill at 180 °C temperature – turn once during the cooking process. Spray or brush the rack with oil first so that the seasoning doesn’t stick to it
- Service with fresh red onions, tomatoes and cucumber
