Jamaican Steamed Cabbage

Ingredients
- ½ white cabbage
- 1 carrot
- 1 bell pepper (2 colours)
- ½ brown onion
- Scotch bonnet pepper
- Garlic cloves
- Spring oion
- Vegetable oil
- All-purpose seasoning
- Black pepper
- Salt
- Butter
Method
- Start with very preparing the following:
- ½ white cabbage, sliced
- 1 carrot, sliced/ julienne
- 1 bell pepper, 2 colours, sliced
- ½ brown onion, sliced
- ½ scotch bonnet pepper, chopped
- 2-3 cloves of garlic, diced
- 1 spring onion stalk, chopped
- Heat up 2 tbps of vegetable oil for 2 minutes
- Start by cooking down your brown onion, spring onion and garlic on a medium temperature for ca 2 minutes
- Next, add your carrots, cook for 2 minutes
- Add your bell pepper and scotch bonnet, cook for 2 minutes
- Finally, add your white cabbage. Season as follows:
- ½ tbsp. all-purpose
- ½ tsp. black pepper
- ½ tsp. salt
- 1 stick of butter
- Mix together and then cover your pot, turn the temperature down to low to medium, and steam for 5-10 minutes. The longer it steams, the less crunchy your vegetables will be
